about

Known colloquially by some as the Bush Tomato or Desert Raisin, the ‘Akudjura’ (solanum centrale) is a fruit grown in arid parts of Australia which thrives after periods of fire and disturbance. From the same shrub, these twin tracks with bouncing 808s and simmering 303s have ripened early due to COVID-19 lockdown.

Like a crisp shandy sipped on the edge of summer, the Bush Tomato Mix is sweet with a steady fizz. Balmy synths bubble throughout, undergoing breezy transformations as momentum builds.

Picking up the pace, the Desert Raisin Mix sees synths advance and recede alongside the 4-to-the-floor beat. Glittering delays ripple this smoky cut open like a budding plant.

Akudjura’s sweet convergent sounds embody the simple pleasure of time spent swapping stories with friends, leaning in closer as a warm evening cools off to become a breezy night.
